Convenient location but they never stock any “main” sale items from their flyer. I saw a merchandiser stocking up the meat section but they didn’t have any of the sale item on their cart. Strange, because they were stocking the same product but specifically the sizes that were not on sale (they just walked out from the butcher section with a full cart). Asked the employee and they told me that it’s out of stock. Understandable if the store receives the items pre-packed from their supplier but they pack the meats in-store… I noticed before that they never carried sale items but this experience really confirmed it.
TL;DR: Go there for convenience, not their sale.
For its location and size, the store staff do a great job at consistently trying to make the shopping experience better. For example, they've implemented a sort of traffic director person for the post-work/pre-dinner rush. Simple and mindful efforts like this can and do go a long way.
That said, if you're going in looking for 5-star service and products at a 3-star price, you'll likely be disappointed. But for getting most groceries, especially the perishables that you don't want to buy in bulk, Mike's has been my go-to when in Toronto.
Customer Service is by far below standard, Try not to ask for help even managers are rude. I had one yell at me In a treating manner. Yelling at the top of his voice. "Oh forgive for ask if an item was in stock".
I never felt this uncomfortable sending my money.
To be fair the ladies at the cash outs are always pleasant. But if you cant find an item please do not make the mistake of asking for help.
With so much alternative why should go to a place that make me feel uncomfortable
Only to be yelled at. Thanks mikeS
Had potato wedges for lunch. Was lukewarm. It's better tasting when drenched in ketchup.
Small and compact but with more than enough items, well stocked, veggies are fresh, many items to choose from the hot food section.
Veggie and fruit organic offers aren’t that many but it’s better than nothing, location is convenient and the store hours are fantastic (the best part for me!)
Good spot with a variety of grocery items. It has a nice selection of hot sauces.
It is well stocked, clean and overall nice to shop at. My go-to store for many things.
There are some items which are very overpriced though.
Some items, like sink drain cleaner for example - cost 3x times more than at the dollar store across the street. Anything up to 2x would be acceptable for me, but 3x is pushing it.
Hams and cheese are also overpriced - 500g of feta cheese costing 14 dollars got me confused.
Overall, a pretty good market if you're willing to compromise on the prices of specific overpriced items, or just get them somewhere else.
